Technical Papers
More than 260 abstracts were submitted for Waterpower XVI . . . representing more than 500
authors from 39 countries. Panels of technical experts review the abstracts to determine which authors will be invited to develop Technical Papers. All accepted papers (deadline February 16, 2009) will be published in CD-ROM format and distributed to all delegates at Waterpower XVI. Authors will be invited to participate in the conference program as outlined below.
The Author Guidelines provide pertinent information on how to participate in the Waterpower XVI program.

Contributor's Agreement
Preparing Your Paper
- Follow a general style and format:
Paper: Letter size, 8.5"x11"
Margins: 1" all sides
Font: Arial or similar sans-serif font [this is a san-serif font;
this is a serif font].
Type Size: 11 or 12 point [this is 12 point].
- On the first page of your paper, provide the title, authors, and a short abstract (see
sample paper).
- Include a page number in the lower right corner of each page (see sample paper).
- Do not use company letterhead, company logos, and/or any headers/footers other
than the page number in the lower right corner of each page.
- Papers are to be 15 pages or less.
- On the last page of the paper, include a brief biographical sketch for each author,
not to exceed 75 words per author (see sample paper).
- You may use high quality electronic photos, easy-to-read charts, or other graphics.
Position these as you want them to appear, with captions as appropriate (see sample
paper).
- Create an electronic version of your paper as a "doc" file using Microsoft Word; the
maximum acceptable file size is 5 MB. E-mail the Microsoft Word file of your paper
to: techpapers@hcipub.com.
- When you submit your paper, include the Waterpower Contributor's Agreement
Form for yourself and all additional authors. All authors listed on a paper are
required to sign the Contributor's Agreement.
To "sign" the form electronically, open the file and type your name in the author
signature box in the following form: //John F. Doe//. You will then need to save this
file (to a file location in your computer), and send it to techpapers@hcipub.com as an e-mail
attachment. (You must "Attach" the file; you cannot simply "Reply.")
You can forward the agreement to each of your authors and they can send in their
own electronic signature individually. Your "electronic signature" signifies your
approval to publish your paper and agreement that one author will purchase a
conference registration.
- At the time of paper submittal, at least one author must purchase a speaker's
registration for the conference. To do this, complete and submit the Registration
Form with payment.
Note: Submittal of a paper does not guarantee publication. Material deemed inappropriate for inclusion on the Conference Papers CD-ROM will be withheld. Submitted materials will not be returned.
